Women are bearing most of the brunt of heightened racial abuse during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a preliminary report into racism against Asians in Australia.
- More than a third of the racial abuse reported was racial slurs or name calling
- Verbal threats made up 9 per cent of cases while being spat, sneezed or coughed on was 8 per cent
