Leaning Tower of Nachos

Lambton Park Hotel is known for their delicious pub feeds, and when we popped in for lunch they did not disappoint.

A beautiful Saturday afternoon saw us drop into the Lambton Park Hotel (LPH) for lunch. Located in Morehead Street, Lambton, the pub features a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere and a modern locally sourced menu.

The menu has all your pub favourites with a range of schnitty’s and burgers, while also putting a modern twist on some dishes, both familiar and unconventional.

It was a stinking hot day so my dad, his misses and I sat in the airconditioned bistro to escape the heat. A couple of ciders and beers later, we ordered a feed and chucked on a keno for the wait.

Not even 15 to 20 minutes later our dishes came out and I’ll tell you what, one in particular made my jaw drop. My dad and the misses ordered the Trashcan Nachos with house-smoked brisket, mozzarella, guacamole and salsa. To describe the dish in dads’ words, “Holy Smokes!”

It was lucky Dad and Bec didn’t decide to get one each because they had more than enough between them with this tower of Mexican sensation. They enjoyed the Trashcan Nachoswith house-smoked brisket, mozzarella, guacamole and salsa. I have never seen a bigger bowl of nachos in my life, it could feed at least 4 people I reckon.

Whilst watching Dad try his best to down his monstrous lunch, I had the 250g fillet steak with sautéed broccolini and roast portobello mushroom topped with a mushroom sauce. Perfectly cooked at medium rare and piled with mushroom upon mushroom by my request, and my oh my was it delicious. As a mushroom lover, I think I ordered the perfect dish and the sautéed broccolini was the perfect addition to break up the dish and add to the flavour.

After a couple of well-proportioned meals, we were absolutely stuffed. A quality pub feed if you ask me!

There’s also deals on every day of the week, Monday to Sunday. From burger Wednesday, $15 lunch specials from Monday to Friday, Rump it up Monday and Family Funday Sunday where all kids eat free, there really is a special for everyone.

Whether you’re heading for happy hour after a hard slog at work, taking the family out for a nice lunch or dining in for a family members birthday dinner, the Lambton Park Hotel has got you covered.
