Rowdy Rodeo Returns

Published

on

Grab your pink Stetson and polish your boots, because the Singleton Rodeo is back on Saturday April 27.

Held at Singleton Showground, the Singleton Rodeo kicks off at 11:00am with this year’s events including Open Bull Ride, Open Saddle Bronc, Open Bareback, Steer Wrestling, Rope & Tie, Team Roping, Ladies Barrel Race, Breakaway Roping, Steer Undecorating and Novice events. Main events start at 5:30pm.

Singleton Rodeo also incorporates the East Coast Junior Rodeo Championships so you can enjoy the thrill and spills of the kid’s bull ride, steer rides, barrel races and two brand new events – the mini bull rides (U11 years and U14 years).

All up there are 24 events and over $12,000 in cash prizes up for grabs.

There will be plenty of market and food stalls to check out between events plus a ton of kid’s rides to keep them out of your hair. For the big kiddies, test your riding skills on the mechanical bull if you dare!

Jarred Taylor and The Iron Shackle Band will be performing after the last bull bucks so make sure you wear your dancing boots.

Whatever your outfit, make sure you wear something pink.

For the third year running the Rodeo will be PINK in support of the McGrath Foundation. The Northern Agricultural Association Inc. (NAA) will donate a percentage of the proceeds from the rodeo to the McGrath Breast Care Nurses. In previous years $23,000 has been raised for the McGrath Foundation and every dollar counts.

This year they are also raising much-needed funds for the Singleton Cancer Appeal Committee so there’s never been a better reason to have that second beer and burger. Or third…

So, grab the family and get on down to the Showground for some boot scooting, bull bucking fun!
